For over 20 years, we've had a great history of serving our clients’ eco-conscious needs, and it has given us the knowledge of what customers want while impacting the world with Made in the USA natural products.
Once my children grew up and our customers’ children grew up too, there was still the desire for natural products with soft edges.
About Our Products
The Camden Rose difference is in the details.
Our ‘homegoods’ are made with wood, wool, silk or cotton. Rarely do we use plywood (mainly only for drawer bottoms), and when we do, it is premium Baltic Birch Plywood that is California approved. We never use MDF or particleboard due to the toxic off-gassing of chemicals.
Wood is a living item and it is best shown in cherry wood that darkens over time with light or sunlight exposure. Solid wood naturally expands and contracts with humidity so we take care in designing our products that will allow for this natural occurrence.
We have an eco clear hard finish that is water-based. With this hard finish, water and wood do not mix, so we have to sand between coatings and apply more coats than conventional finishes which is more work but it is nice to have some heavily used items have a harder finish. We can do stains as well, but most of these are conventional and may need to be considered a custom order.
Each piece is unique
We favor hardwoods like cherry, maple, and walnut because they are durable and their wood grain is exceptionally beautiful. Most of our maple wood is considered “curly” for the figuring in the wood. Smooth, rounded edges require additional time and effort, but the result creates our signature look and feel. To hold and behold Camden Rose products is a uniquely satisfying sensory experience.
Lead and Phylate Free
As equally important as their look and feel, our products are made from renewable resources and are phylate-free and lead-free to keep children and our Mother Earth safe.

Natural Hardwoods
As Midwesterners, we are surrounded by lovely natural hardwoods and skilled woodworkers. Talented craftspeople help us to create our furniture and homegoods.
All Natural Finishes
Our main beeswax finish (made in house) consists of local beeswax and organic Jojoba oil (plant based oil/wax that is food safe). This is a light finish so re-application is necessary depending on use and dryness.

"What are you going to do to make this world more beautiful?"
We can learn so much from children’s stories, and the book, Miss Rumphius by Barbara Cooney, impacted me numerous times while reading it to my children. The line that stuck with me the most is “what are you going to do to make this world more beautiful?”.
Camden Rose began making and changing the market for natural children’s products by using Midwest hardwoods of cherry, maple and walnut and having the philosophy of creating artful solid wood products with soft edges.
I am honored to feel like I have impacted the world this way.
