Children are very capable of discerning differences in sound quality. The lively yet ethereal sound of a wooden flute is one of the best ways of training the ear, hand and heart.
The Ello Flute mimics the form of the Renaissance-developed cylindrical duct-flute that possesses a simple elegance. The flute is tuned to the pentatonic scale, d”-e”-g”-a”-b”-d”-e”, and breathes a light, hovering tonality that is mellow and well-balanced, making it especially perfect for the introductory instrument of the first grade. Each flute is crafted from American maple with a cherry wood block making the tonal as well as the physical properties of this instrument far superior to that of plastic.
We offer our flutes in natural maple or with a warm colorful stain. In addition, we also make available personalized engraving for classroom environments or the special gift.
